Scribo is the fun, free to play word game which challenges your vocabulary and spelling skills.
Use the Log on button to register and keep your saves.
Scribo is an entirely new form of crossword puzzle, where ten words interlock together to form a five across, five down, solution with no black or unused squares. All the letters you need are given, but jumbled up. The clues are starting letters already placed on the board for you. Three clues for challenge mode, and nine clues for light mode.
Simply move (drag or click) the tiles from the picker (on the left) to the board (in the middle).
When you make a word it is indicated on the board, and added to the pile of words you have discovered so far.
All twenty five letters you need to compleate the board are in the picker.
There are three clue letters already on the board for you, these are the BLUE tiles.
When you form a recognised word it is shown in YELLOW .
When you form a word which is correct, but in the wrong place the word is shown in ORANGE .
When you form a word which is correct, and in the correct place, the word is shown in GREEN . you have found a word, which also means you have found some more clues (letters) to help complete the board.
When all the tiles are green (except the clue letter tiles) congratulations!, you have successfully completed the board.
Your score is shown as the number of words you discovered before completing the board. Try to finish the board while uncovering the least number of words.
On a wide device the mode icon ( challenge or light) is displayed along with your word count and the puzzle number.
On a tall device this information is displayed in the side panel, accessed via the hamburger menu top left.
Where you can also change game mode. Once you select light for any given puzzle, you can not change it back to challenge mode as you have seen the extra letters...
Puzzles always start in challenge mode by default.
You can also access previous puzzles from the drawer, so you can play any puzzles you have missed.
If you have created an account then your past scores will be shown in the player tab (accessed via the 'log on', or your user name, button top right).
This shows; attempted puzzle number, if you have compleated a puzzle, the difficulty mode and the number of words you have discovered.
How to save progress
If you want to keep track of your progress and scores, you will need to register an account with an email address.
Use the log on button (top right) then the register link to create your account.
Your user name will replace the words 'log on' and will show your puzzle progress, and offer a log out option.
